When I was a little girl, I used to spend a lot of time in the morning watching my father putting together his outfits using amazing colored ties, shirts and suits. Every outfit would be completed with a matching pair of shoes. We would also spend a lot of time shopping. Interestingly, it was my dad, not my mom, who developed my love and eye for fashion. His teacher was my grandfather, who had over forty custom tailored suits in the 1930s.

Even though I had so much passion for fashion, professionally, I have spent 15 years in consumer marketing. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a number of highly respected international companies like Coca-Cola and Reckitt Benckiser in positions where I created, developed, and managed consumer brands and worked as a consultant in nearly 20 countries, on five different continents.

Still, I have always loved fashion and styling. At work, I was always helping my friends out with their styles, picking up outfits for them for their special occasions and being their most favorite shopping buddy.  After a while, I realized the positive impact this experience had on their lives. They started to get recognized and get compliments. They were walking down the corridors with more confidence and gravitas.

Then it hit me, I could help more people! That is when, I decided to get serious about it and after 2 years of training, I became certified by the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York as an Image Consultant.

Finally, I founded my own Style Coaching company, Guliz&Co to blend my expertise in the science of marketing and art of styling & fashion to help my clients find their “signature look”.  Working for the most recognizable brands in the world, I have had a first encounter with the power and impact a brand can have. As individuals we are all brands and we do make a statement in our work and social lives with our personal brand, whether we realize it or not.

I work with individual executives, professionals to develop their signature look, as well as offering group and corporate workshops on image and personal brands. I still continue working as a consultant, helping large global companies bring innovation and creativity to their brands. The great synergy between my professions is that since I always travel for work, I am very in tune with global trends and collect style inspirations from everywhere around the world.
